Ntungamo District

Ntungamo is a district in Uganda. The population of the district was an estimated 411,799 in 2001. Current Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni was born in Ntungamo. Ntungamo used to be part of the larger Ankole district, which was a kingdom until its abolishment by president Milton Obote in 1967.
It has 2 main roads, of which 1 is paved. It is located about 6hrs from the Ugandan capital Kampala and 1hr from each Mbarara and Kabale.
