[edit] About Tourism NT
Tourism NT is charged with the promotion and development of tourism in the Northern Territory. Tourism NT markets and influences the development of the Northern Territory as a competitive and compelling travel destination for the continuing benefit of all Territorians.
Tourism NT works with three main partners and stakeholders to achieve these outcomes:
- Tourism industry partners who work with Tourism NT to market the destination interstate and overseas
- The travel industry that provides the necessary coordination for working with wholesalers, retail agents and airlines to facilitate the distribution of Territory travel products
- Tourism NT provides the Northern Territory Government, through the Minister for Tourism, with policy and service delivery advice

[edit] Your work on Kakadu National Park
Hi there. i think it is great that organisations use their expertise and knowledge to improve Wikipedia, and your work on KNP has made it informative. Still, given your organisation's role, questions might arise about a couple of things that you might want to think about.
First, referencing. This article is unreferenced, but good Wikipedia articles cite sources for all major facts.
Second, plagiarism. I noticed that some of the sentences in the article that you have contributed appear elsewhere on the Internet, but there is no attribution of these. In most cases, this is a simple problem to fix: someone has plagiarised material, and it should be deleted or the source cited. However, it is possible that in your case, things are more complicated. Perhaps NTTC is the source of text that has been used by, for example tourism operators. In such cases, the NTTC was actually the source of the text. Maybe your publications etc are the ones that have been plagiarised and you have the right to use this text as though it was your own! Fair enough, but the solution is to reference everything, including citing NTTC publications.
Third, there may be a neutral point of view (NPOV) problem. NTTC is an advocate for tourism, and this colours the text. Remember this should be written as an encyclopedia entry, not assistance to tourists or as a travel brochure. In terms of choosing language, check out Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms.
That said, it's good to have contributions, and I will try and join you to work on this and related articles in future. cheers. hamiltonstone 04:32, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
