Noah Christian Newman is a fictional character from the American soap opera The Young and the Restless. The character was most recently portrayed by actor Hunter Allan, who began appearing on the show in September 2005 and last appeared on May 9, 2008.
Noah is born in 1997 to Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Collins (Sharon Case).
The character sees little air time until the death of his older sister, Cassie (Camryn Grimes), in 2005. After this, his father Nick feels it is his duty to hunt down fugitive Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), whom he believes was responsible for his daughter's death, leaving eight-year-old Noah to be the "man of the house" and comfort a distraught Sharon.
Nick soon returns and the Newman family is reunited, but Nick and Sharon eventually begin having marital difficulties, causing Noah to rebel. Ultimately Nick and Sharon's affairs with Phyllis Abbott (Michelle Stafford) and Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) respectively end up destroying the Newman marriage. Nick eventually moved in with, and married, Phyllis. While Noah developes an almost "big brother" relationship with Daniel (who is also Phyllis' son), he at first resents Phyllis taking his mother's place, but he soon warms greatly toward Phyllis and begins to accept her as his new mother figure.
During the Clear Springs collapse in October 2007, Noah is trapped under the rubble along with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), Maggie Sullivan (Tammy Lauren) and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman). When rescued, Noah is held as a hero by Lauren, but due to the extent of injuries sustained, he has to have his spleen removed.
Unlike most child characters on soap operas, Noah ages naturally from his birth in 1997 until Hunter Allan's departure in May 2008. The character is reportedly being aged into his teens in late 2008.
