Nina Claire Snaith is a British mathematician, currently an Advanced Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, who works in random matrix theory and quantum chaos. She is the daughter of the mathematician Victor Snaith, and sister of the musician Daniel Snaith ("Caribou").

As an undergraduate at McMaster University in Canada, she studied theoretical physics.[1] She moved to the University of Bristol to study for her Ph.D. in applied mathematics; in 2000, she submitted her dissertation on Random Matrix Theory and zeta functions.[2]

The main focus of her current work is on the application of random matrix theory to the Riemann zeta function. Her first major achievement in dealing with the problem was in conjunction with her then adviser Jon Keating; in 1998, they demonstrated at a meeting in Vienna that, applying methods used in quantum physics, they had developed a method for computationally generating all the moments of the function. Until this point, "pure" number theory had only managed to prove the first three moments; the fourth was announced at the same meeting by Brian Conrey and Steve Gonek, with both results agreeing.[3]
