Dr. Nguyễn Bá Thanh (b. 1959) is a member of Central Committee of Communist Party of Vietnam, secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Danang city, the top leader in all affairs of this city since the party is the sole ruling party. His former title was the mayor of Danang. He is considered by Vietnamese top leaders as the successful leader in Danang, his achievements are largly urban planning, relocation implementation. Danang has been planned and expanded during the last 10 years, nearly one-third of the city-dwellers have been relocated for urban planning. Due to this fact, Nguyen Ba Thanh has been sued by several city-dwellers but official investigations have shown that all that he has been carried out are in accordance with the laws and he was elected to the National Assembly.
