Talk:New York City Police Department Auxiliary Police
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It seems significant to the history of the program that two auxiliaries were shot and killed on March 14, 2007. I'm not sure how that should best be incorporated into the article. Any thoughts? 160.39.19.250 04:02, 15 March 2007 (UTC)mithras
- OK mithras prophet, I wrote a new section about Auxiliary Officer safety. I tried to hit the major points that people will be curious about following this tragedy. From the pictures coming out of the scene it looks like the A/POs were NOT wearing vests. Browsing grammarian 05:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
It should be noted that after the unfortunate shooting of the two A/POs that the city decided to fund vests for Auxiliaries
Perhaps someone can find some stories portraying Auxiliaries in a more positive light? Half the stories in that section are about Auxiliaries getting attacked (which really doesn't relate to the article at all) and the other half are about guys who got arrested. Unless someone can find some more positive stories, maybe the section should be removed for POV reasons? What does everyone else think? 148.100.220.91 03:57, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Auxsup1.jpg
Image:Auxsup1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
