New York State Route 101 (NY 101) is a state highway in northwestern Nassau County, New York. It runs north and south as Port Washington Boulevard from NY 25A in Flower Hill, west of Roslyn and north of Manhasset, to Astor Lane in Sands Point, where it continues to run northward toward Long Island Sound as Middle Neck Road.
Route 101 is the only state highway on Long Island (including the Borough of Queens in New York City) to have a southern terminus at NY 25A. South of NY 25A, Route 101 changes its name to Searingtown Road and becomes unsigned Nassau County Route 101, which terminates at Shelter Rock Road (unsigned CR 8) in Herricks.

Route 101 begins at an intersection with New York State Route 25A in Flower Hill. The route heads northward, passing homes and businesses, along with small patches of trees. At the intersection with Park Avenue North, Route 101 splits into a divided highway known as Port Washington Boulevard. The highway continues north until St. Francis Hospital, where it curves to the northwest. Route 101 then passes Flower Hill Park and Hempstead Country Club, which, unofficially mark the enterance to downtown Flower Hill.[2]
The highway begins to leave Flower Hill, passing the North Hempstead Country Club. Route 101 continues to the northeast, passing Nassau Knolls Cemetery and merging back into one road. Route 101 then enters Port Washington. After leaving Port Washington, the highway turns northward again, terminating at Astor Lane in Sands Point.[2]

In addition to the Nassau County Extension of NY 101, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) had been planning a limited-access highway called the Western Nassau Expressway, that would've carried the NY 101 designation south to Valley Stream, and North through Sands Point, and possibly across a bridge to Mamaroneck in Westchester County. However, the plans were dropped as a result of community opposition.[3]
Since 2005, the annual Traffic Data Report published by NYSDOT has omitted the Main Street-Astor Lane portion of NY 101.[4] However, the route's northern terminus is still given as Astor Lane in the 2007 NYSDOT description of routes in New York and, as of 2006, is still signed as being at Astor Lane.[5][6]
