New Mexico State Road 120 is a state road in northeastern New Mexico. The route runs through four counties: Union, Harding, Mora, and Colfax.

Its most notable junction is with Interstate 25 at Wagon Mound at exit 387, the only interchange on the road.

[edit] Route description

Starting in southwestern Union County about 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Gladstone, the road travels about 6 miles (9.7 km) south before entering Harding County.

Upon entering Harding County, within 2 miles (3.2 km) the road travels through the village of Yates, where it serves as the main road through the town. The road goes south of Kiowa National Grassland where it intersects with Route 39 in Roy. About 8 miles (13 km) east of Roy, the road crosses over the Canadian River and enters Mora County.

Entering Mora County, the road continues northwest and west 25 miles (40 km) to Wagon Mound. It is called Park Avenue within Wagon Mound. On the west side of Wagon Mound, it has its only interchange at its intersection with I-25 (exit 387).

Out of Wagon Mound the road continues almost straight northwest for 20 miles (32 km), passing numerous ranch roads, to Naranjos where it heads west over the foothills of Los Naranjos Peak to the south. Soon it intersects Route 442 in Ocate, before heading northwest toward Colfax County.

The road leaves Ocate as an unpaved road with the Maxwell Land Grant on the right (NE) and the Mora Land Grant on the left (SW). It follows first alongside Ocate Creek, and then, after the Los Le Febres turnoff to the south, goes up Manueles Canyon where it crosses into Colfax County. Shortly after entering Colfax County Route 120 heads west and ends when it meets Route 434 at Black Lake. In winter the unpaved section is prone to heavy ice, snowpack, and mud.[2].
