The 10th congressional district (together with the 9th) was created starting with the 58th United States Congress in 1903, based on redistricting predicated on the results of the United States Census, 1900.
Representatives from the district have included:
- 1903-1907: Allan L. McDermott (D), shifted from New Jersey's 7th congressional district, due to redistricting
- 1907-1913: James A. Hamill (D)
- 1913-1915: Edward W. Townsend (D), shifted from New Jersey's 7th congressional district, due to redistricting following the United States Census, 1910
- 1923-1933: Frederick R. Lehlbach (R), shifted to New Jersey's 12th congressional district, due to redistricting following the United States Census, 1930
