[edit] About
The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is devoted to preventing eating disorders, providing treatment referrals, and increasing the education and understanding of eating disorders, weight, and body image.
It began in 2001, from the merger of Eating Disorders Awareness & Prevention (EDAP), and American Anorexia Bulimia Association (AABA). At the time, EDAP was the largest eating disorder group[citation needed], while AABA was the oldest eating disorder group[citation needed]. These groups themselves were previously formed from the National Eating Disorder Organization (NEDO) and the Anorexia Nervosa & Related Disorders (ANRED).
