Natasha Vita-More (born "Nancie Clark" in February 1950) is a media artist and futurist lectures on transhumanism, and is known for her work on the posthuman prototype, "Primo Posthuman."[1]

Vita-More is currently working on a Doctorate of Philosophy at the Planetary Collegium. She has a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Science in futures studies from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in multimedia from the University of Memphis. During the course of her research, Vita-More has developed works in the Navajo Nation, the Amazon jungle, and the Brazilian city of Manaus.[citation needed]

[edit] Philosophy

Vita-More argues that the architecture of the human design lacks a good argument not to be augmented. She asserts that it is essential to be optimistic and critical, rather than to postulate theories driven to digress. As such she suggests that humanity ought to be designing ways in which we can finally deal with the suffering of humans and to help people not just exist, survive and sustain, but to overcome the ailments of evolution's early blueprint, which not only can but ought to be modified. To give credence to her arguments, Vita-More supports the proactionary principle.[citation needed]

[edit] "Creativity Augmentum"

In 1998, in conversation with Vernor Vinge on the Singularity, Vita-More suggested the idea of distributed identity wherein emotions and intuition play a vital role in reasoning. Such an epoch references Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the noosphere as well as Pierre Levy and the Connective Intelligence. The difference in Vita-More's assessment of a future scenario in which humans evolve is that the human maintains a sense of humanity in its newfound environment which is immersive and distributed.[citation needed]
