Naqibullah

Naqibullah is an Afghan boy who was one of those detained by the United States in the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp. He was detained following the 2001 war in Afghanistan and had been released by February 2004.
Although not an adult, he was detained at a camp intended, according to US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld for holding "the worst of the worst".
In a BBC interview Naqibullah described his capture:[1]
- "I hadn't done anything, but they suspected me because I was standing next to some men who had guns"
- "I told them I was innocent. I don't even know how to use a gun"
Unlike a number of other child detainees, Haqibullah was housed in Camp Iguana, with two other children. These three were provided with English lessons, video games, and an exercise yard where their guards would play soccer with them.
In his BBC interview Naqibullah said he was treated well, not tortured.
When the Department of Defense exhausted its legal appeals, and was forced, on May 15, 2006, to comply with a court order to release a full list of the names of all the detainees who had been in military custody at Guantanamo, Naqibullah's name was absent.[2] They did list an individual they called Naqib Ullah, who they estimated had been born in 1988, in "Zargary Camp", Afghanistan.
