From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nakkila is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Satakunta region. The municipality has a population of 5,941 (2003) and covers an area of 184.85 km² of which 1.76 km² is water (mostly from river Kokemäenjoki). The population density is 32.4 inhabitants per km².
There are two major "sights" in Nakkila, the church and the film studio Villilä, often referred as "Hollywood of Finland", though compared to Villilä, the real Hollywood is quite a sad case. The students of Villilä have often cited the local teenage populace as hostile to what they perceive as outsiders, or "non-local, posh artist-wannabes". This hostility has ranged from threats, property damage to the small student campus, bodily harm and even rape of female students.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
