Næturvaktin

Næturvaktin (e. The Graveyard shift) is a Icelandic television show. The series were shown at Stöð 2 in 2007 on Sundays from the 16th of September to the December 9. The series won two Edda Awards in 2007. One for “Best acting in a TV series” and the other for “Most popular TV series”.
Næturvaktin revolves around the lives of three employes working at a gas station in Reykjavík. The eccentric supervisor Georg Bjarnfreðarson (Jón Gnarr), has five University degrees and a fond admiration for Sweden and Swedish culture. Ólafur Ragnar (Pétur Jóhann Sigfússon) who is a regular employee is a simple, well meaning guy who has ambitions of becoming a band manager. Daníel (Jörundur Ragnarsson) is a former medical student who has recently cut off all relations with his friends and family because of test anxiety and depression. He starts working at the gas station at the beginning of the series.
A sequel to Næturvaktin called Dagvaktin (e. The Day shift) will premiere during the fall of 2008.
