MTV Live's first guest was Kevin Zegers, a Canadian actor that stared in the movie Transamerica. The second guest, and first live performance, was from jazz musician Jamie Cullum.
The early episodes used three hosts each day. Starting in mid-May the show started using two hosts for each MTV Live episode, with Daryn Jones acting as the primary host with alternating co-hosts Jessi Cruickshank, Nicole Holness, Daniel Levy, and Aliya-Jasmine Sovani. The remaining MTV hosts continue to appear in short segments during MTV Live and other MTV Canada programming. Also appearing regularly on the show are Johnny Hockin, host of MTV Live Hacked, and the production assistant, Paul Lemieux, also known as "Paul the Intern".
On the 100th episode (which turned out to be their 101st episode due to a miscount) they showed the worst moments of MTV Live.
During the Week of March 24-27 MTV Live hosts competed in MTV Live Gladiators, guest host Evan Starkman from the Gauntlet hosted the portion of the show. On the first day of the event Dan Levy injured his groin and had to be replaced. The hosts competed in 4 different events, Joust, Assault and Hit and Run and Eliminator. In the final even the Eliminator the hosts were released at different times through an obstacle course based on the Points they had accumulated. The top 2 boys Paul and Johnny, who finished hand in hand, and the top 2 girls Nicole and Jesse competed in a final round which declared Nicole the Greatest Host in the World. In an unprecedented act of sportsmanship she gave her pool noodle a token of her victory to Paul.

MTV Live reported the sign in front of the Masonic Temple as having been stolen by 2 men in orange vests; with a girl acting as look-out. Showing security footage of the two men, MTV Live asked the general population to lend a hand at nabbing the devious perpetrators by offering an Xbox 360 as reward.
