To me, L/100KM doesn't make sense. In most metric countries we use KM/L aka the amount of KM you can run on 1 L. This is in complete analogy with Mpg, as this is also Distance over Amount. I think it is better to change this template to use KM/L. Cbetta 12:17, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The situation in the UK

I read that the UK dispenses fuel in litres, not Imp. gallons. Isn't it also true that the UK has gone with the metric system? The US still dispenses fuel in US gallons and has not officially adopted the metric system. Why should the MPG imp measure still be included? Ephdot (talk) 16:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

UK fuel stations do (because the law says they must) dispense fuel in litres, but the legal unit for road distances is still miles. Many, if not most, UK motorists still use mpg (imperial of course) if talking about fuel consumption (official goverment ratings give both mpg amd L/100 km) and UK newspapers still often use £/gallon when commenting on fuel prices. It is true that the metric system has been partially, and half-heartedly imposed on many aspects of UK life, but it has not been widely accepted, or welcomed.
