Moshe Bar

Moshe Bar (born June 1971[citation needed]) founded the company behind the Xen software, XenSource, Inc, sold to Citrix in 2007. Previously, Moshe founded Qlusters Inc. Moshe is also founder of the company Qumranet known for its Kernel-based Virtual Machine virtualization technology in the Linux kernel. He was also the founder, main developer and project manager of openMosix.
He is also active as an angel investor in high-tech start-up companies such as Sullego, Inovawave, and others.
Moshe wrote several books on Linux, file systems and open source development. He also taught at several universities in Israel and Europe and was a senior editor at Byte Magazine for over 8 years. Moshe is an Israeli and US citizen and lives in Israel.
Moshe speaks frequently in many places around the world on subjects of virtualization, enterprise software, high-performance computing, Linux, and free software. He has authored several academic papers on high-performance computing and taught at Tel Aviv University. Before entering the high-tech business, he was a career officer in the Israel Defense Forces.
He has recently been noted for his activity in philanthropy and in various Zionist organizations.
