Morton Ann Gernsbacher is Vilas Research Professor & Sir Frederic Bartlett Professor of Psychology at University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also the president of the Association for Psychological Science.

She has a B.A. from University of North Texas, a M.S from University of Texas at Dallas, and a PH.D from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Experimental Psychology.

She is a specialist in autism and psycholinguistics, and has written and edited professional and lay books on these subjects, and over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her own son, Drew, was diagnosed as autistic in the spring of 1998.
