Moraine Assembly

Moraine Assembly is a General Motors automobile factory in Moraine, Ohio, United States. Opened in 1951, originally as a Frigidaire appliance plant, the plant produces trucks for GM. Its current products, the GMT360 SUVs, will go out of production in 2010. The 3rd shift of production was eliminated from Moraine effective in July 2006 following an announcement in November 2005.

[edit] Plant Closure
On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008, GM Chairman Rick Wagoner announced the Moraine plant will close in 2010, citing high fuel prices and decreased demand for the SUV and trucks produced by the plant. There are no plans to reconfigure the plant to produce other products.[1]
