[edit] Merge tagging

Gidday, I've reverted your edits to Democratic Kampuchea and Cambodia under Pol Pot (1975-1979) where you have suggested merging the two articles. The articles were only recently split after a discussion here which you would have noticed if you read the talk page for the second article.

Alternatively, if you had looked at Talk:Democratic Kampuchea you would have seen my rather terse comments to an editor who performed another drive-by merge tagging less than a month ago. Your merge tag is now the third - hence my deteriorating patience. Please at least read the talk pages even if you don't state your reasons for merging - per WP:MERGE.

Finally, Democratic Kampuchea was a political party which held a seat at the United Nations until 1991 - so how should we fit that fact into the 1975-1979 article? Paxse 12:12, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject BBC Sitcoms

I noticed that you are listed as the founder of the BBC Sitcoms Project so I've decided to ask this question directly to you rather than putting it on the project talk page.

The project page has been tagged as inactive recently, which is a shame because I think the articles on BBC Sitcoms would benefit from some specialist attention. Therefore, I was wondering if you would like to instead become a task force of the WikiProject BBC in an attempt to get the process of maintaining BBC Sitcom articles up and running again.

My apologies if whoever tagged the project as inactive is incorrect and if it is actually still running, but I would be interested to hear your opinion on the matter anyway. Thanks. - Boy1jhn 15:31, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks very much for the reply, I'm glad you think it's a good idea. Hopefully we'll be able to set up the taskforce soon. I've started a discussion on the WikiProject BBC talk page to check no-one has any concerns and see if anyone has any ideas to help the taskforce to be set up smoothly. You can contribute any ideas here. - Boy1jhn 07:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to merge the project now, when its done you'll be able to find it at Wikipedia:WikiProject BBC/BBC Sitcoms task force. Make any changes to it that you wish. - Boy1jhn 10:27, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Dads Army

Hey, I noticed you also are the founder of wiki project Dads army, and wondered if you would like that to also merge with Wikiproject BBC as we did with BBC Sitcoms? Tiddly-Tom 10:41, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Archie logo.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Archie logo.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Wurm Online

I simply used the general tag due ot the fact that the article appears to have no sources whatsoever. Check GA or FA MMORPG articles for an idea of what to do - MMORPG's are not my speciality. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 21:50, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wurmonline landscape.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wurmonline landscape.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:00, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dad's Army vicar.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dad's Army vicar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MfD nomination of Wikipedia:WikiProject Blackadder

Wikipedia:WikiProject Blackadder, a page you created, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Blackadder and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:WikiProject Blackadder during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Collectonian (talk) 13:09, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Command Decision (Dad's Army episode)

An editor has nominated Command Decision (Dad's Army episode), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Command Decision (Dad's Army episode) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 10:59, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I was about to notify you and see a bot beat me to it. --Jack Merridew 11:00, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Jones.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jones.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -MBK004 22:19, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Generals series article and the C&C template

Perhaps there is no reason to revert your edits to the C&C template quite yet, but be advised that the Command & Conquer: Generals series article is about to be merged into the Command & Conquer: Generals article. The details surrounding the proposed merger can be found right here, if you have questions or otherwise should wish to comment. Kalamrir (talk) 20:42, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree. The problem however is that a single title and its expansion pack do not really qualify as a "series". We'll have to debate this issue in length after the merger of the two articles is completed, and see what we can come up with for the template. Kalamrir (talk) 22:32, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Captain Mainwaring.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Captain Mainwaring.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:
