Minnie Egener, soprano contralto, B: 1881; d: 1938, New Orleans
She made her debut (1904) at the Metropolitan Opera as a Flower Maiden in Parisifal. After one season there she went to Italy (1906), where she sang at various theaters in the years following. In 1910 she sang Alissa in Lucia di Lanmmermoor with Luisa Terrazzini at Parma; she also appeared in small roles at Covent Garden and at the Manhattan Opera. She sang with the Philadelphia-Chicago Company (1910-1914) In 1914 she returned to The Metropolitian, where she busied herself in comprimario roles. In December, 1932, she sang Flora in La Traviara there as her farewell to the stage. Thereafter she taught first in New York and later in New Orleans. She was married to the conductor Louis Hasselmans.
