Minken Fosheim (real name Birte Fosheim)[1] (b. 20 March 1956) is a Norwegian actress and children's books author. She graduated from Teaterhøyskolen (the Theater Academy), and has since acted in various roles on stage, film and television. Rather than working under a permanent contract with any particular theater, she works as a freelancer.[1] She has also had success writing books for children about composers, like Mozart, Grieg and Vivaldi.[1] Fosheim runs the children's theater Barne- og ungdomsteateret from her home in Oslo, an educational institution with 170 children.[2]
Her brother is the musician Lage Fosheim, known from the band The Monroes. She is married to André Wienskol – originally from France – whom she met when she was 21.[3] Together they have two sons.[1] Her oldest son, Tobias, has had a role on the norwegian TV-series Nr. 13.[4]
