[edit] RE: earning your medals (barnstar) etc.

This editor is an Apprentice Editor, and is entitled to display this Service Badge.

Sadly I've not been awarded any barnstars based on my actual contributions. Like you I've taken on projects which require edits across multiple pages without recognition of others. Personally I'm not bothered by this. Service awards however are easier to get, so easy you can do it your self, just look at and follow the guidelines at Wikipedia:Service awards. If need be you can research yourself and your edits through the tool server by way of programs such as Interiots edit counter[1]. You can also confirm your first logged in edit as a user by clicking on my preferences.

You may wish to add the edit counter to your user page for later research by adding {{userinfo}} to the very top.

My research would show you have been a member for 16 Months and have made 1777 (1499 Mainspace) edits. According to Wikipedia:Service awards you are officially only an Apprentice but could also award yourself the earlier service award of Novice. The guidelines are clear for service awards, not just time as a member of the community but also edit count.

Furthermore there are often Barnstar Drives for performing needed tasks often listed in the villiage pump and community portal.

My only advice to you would be don't take anything personally, quality is still better than quantity, and include more edit summaries (which also reduces the chances of reversion). Slysplace talk 21:45, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

The reward is often just in the doing, the expectation of something deserved is often similar to assumed ownership of an article one creates. Have you read Contributing to Wikipedia? or better yet Five pillars Remember just be bold. It's all about sharing knowledge, awards will come. Slysplace talk 22:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Editing your user page is good practice, enhancing it is good practice too. Should teach you skills to format other pages the User page design center is a good resource once kept by the Transhumanist . Best of luck Slysplace talk 23:46, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stradivarius

hello. i once again, restored the information you deleted from the stradivarius article on the Nagyvary research. regardless of whether or not the data appears elsewhere, it still has relevance here. cheers! --emerson7 07:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Elizabeth Gilels

Please don't add biographies of other people into the Elizabeth Gilels article. If they're notable enough to pass WP:BIO, then they should have their own articles. If they're not notable enough for BIO, then one or two sentences is sufficient. Corvus cornixtalk 17:35, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

It seems to me like a sneaky way to try to get biographical information about people who fail WP:BIO into the encyclopedia. Please discuss at [[2]]. Corvus cornixtalk 20:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

You will note that I have made no claims about the notability of the subject of the article, Elizabeth Gilels. If you think that there are reliable sources to prove the notability of her descendants, then they should be in separate articles for each of them. If they don't meet notability standards, then stuffing them into an article about somebody else is, indeed, sneaky, and I stand by that. Corvus cornixtalk 22:57, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Corvus, I notice that you are not an administrator. If you are a commited wiki contributor, you would see how much I have contributed. And calling my article sneaky is rather adolescent of you. The dynasty of Leonid Kogan and his wife Elizabeth Gilels, is an important one in the music world. Leonid Kogan is described in all of the history books, and encyclopedias as a legendary violinist. His wife is from the same circles and is considered an important violinist and one of the great pedagogues of the Soviet School. Her teacher ABRAM ILICH YAMPOLSKY is a world renowned pedagogue of the Soviet School of Violin. Who's students went on to become legendary. These figures of the music world have earned the right to these titles. Every known book mentions them in these terms. If you have issues, look them up to confirm your reservations. But please, stop belittling the legendary musicians and pedagogues by taking out the superlatives that they have earned in history. Would you call Einstein just a Scientist? Merci Milliot (talk) 23:02, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

It's your responsibility as the editor of the article to provide reliable sources, it's not the responsiblity of those of us who come by and find sources lacking, to do the diligence that you should have performed when you wrote the article to begin with. Corvus cornixtalk 23:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Provide the sources and all will be fine. Don't provide sources, and you're being obstructionist. Corvus cornixtalk 23:19, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Village_pump_(assistance)#User:Milliot

Please see Wikipedia:Village_pump_(assistance)#User:Milliot. I have no quarrel with the notability of the subjects of your articles, nor do I want to take anything away from the large amount of work you have done, which I applaud, but there really needs to be a lot of work done to your articles to get them up to encyclopedic (and English grammatical) shape. Please don't take this as an attack, as it really is not, in any form. If you find this insulting, I strongly apologize, because I am really not trying to insult you. Corvus cornixtalk 23:08, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

No problems here. I have provided references where citation was requested. Perhaps you would like to offer me a service badge for the large amount of work I have done? :)Milliot (♫♫) 00:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] verifications

any claim made regarding blp must be buttressed by reliable, verifiable references. --emerson7 20:46, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Can you be more specific "regarding blp" ?Milliot (talk) 20:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

blp is a reference to assertions made regarding living people. further, you cannot use wikipedia articles as references. --emerson7 21:05, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Just so you are aware, I was not the one using wikipedia articles as references.Milliot (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:GiuseppeFiorini.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:GiuseppeFiorini.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:11, 11 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 16:11, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please see Wikipedia:Village_pump_(assistance)#User:emerson7

verifications;

Please help. I seem to be having a problem with emerson7 undoing work that I have contributed. The adds. that I have made are self explanatory. The issue is with "Performers who have used or are using Guadagnini instruments"

The performers who have used (and most of them are deceased), are linked to wiki articles. The instruments that these artists used, are linked to a professional database cozio.com. The links are to specific instruments they have used (which are marked accordingly on cozio site). If emerson7 is not familiar with such information, he/she should either get familiar & or try to correct whatever it is that he/she does not agree with. But deleting valuable information and reverting it back to the way it was, which was insufficient for that reason had these posted:
