Occupation Radio Broadcaster

Mike "Triv" Trivisonno (born September 20, 1949) is a libertarian / conservative Radio Broadcaster, best known for hosting his own self-titled afternoon talk show on Cleveland radio station WTAM-AM/1100.

Born in East Cleveland, Ohio, Trivisonno first gained notoriety by being a frequent caller ("Mr. Know It All") on "Sportsline" hosted by Pete Franklin on what was then WWWE AM 1100. He began his own broadcasting career in 1985, working for a time at WNCX, commenting on sports (particularly boxing) and becoming one of the full time morning show personalities during 1989 and 1990 as a part of 'Those Guys in the Morning" with Rick Rydell and Todd Brandt.

He began hosting "Sportsline" on WWWE in 1994. At first, the show aired from 6-11 PM, and the show did well in the ratings--even though it was usually up against Cleveland Indians games on WKNR. It did so well, the decision was made to put Trivisonno in afternoon drive-time (4PM-8PM in 1996; 3PM-7PM since 1998), leaving "Sportsline" to someone else. Since then, The Mike Trivisonno Show (also called The Triv Show or simply Mike Trivisonno) is usually either first or second in ratings for his time slot in the region. Memorably, he used Stevie Wonder's "Misstra Know-it-all" as his theme music, apparently not understanding that the know-it-all in the song is meant to be despicable.

His show had been originally dedicated mostly to sports, but over time it has become a forum for discussing sports, politics, local issues, or whatever else happens to be on Trivisonno's mind at the time. Also on the show are sidekick/producers "Big Daddy" Marty Allen and Paul Rado.

Trivisonno also has a daily segment on WOIO-TV 19's Action News at Five called "Triv TV", where he and anchor Sharon Reed discuss the issues of the day.

Trvisonno has admitted that he had a troubled youth, including being expelled from high school. However, he eventually returned to coach baseball at the high school level.

Trivisonno is often regarded as controversial, due to his less than "politically correct", opinions about major issues (including an instance where he suggested that all AIDS patients wear a badge to designate them as carriers of the AIDS virus), usage of the Italian slang term Dago (to the point where his callers greet him with "Mega Dagos", a takeoff of Rush Limbaugh's "Mega Dittos" catch phrase), and his "rough around the edges" on-the-air-style. Although Trivisonno had no formal broadcasting training, WNCX hired him based on his notoriety as a caller on Sportsline.

Trivisonno also has a policy where he will not talk positively about the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is in large part due to LeBron James wearing a New York Yankees cap at a Cleveland Indians playoffs game against the Yankees. Trivisonno has even gone as far as to wear a Washington Wizards cap the day before the Cavaliers started a playoff series against the Wizards. During that day, he also acted black, and said he was representin' Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards.
