Mihails Zemļinskis (born December 21, 1969) is a former Latvian football player. Born in Riga, he didn't play for another club than Skonto Riga, except for two short joinings in Hungary and Israel. Zemļinskis is a very trustful and skilled defender and he is one of the few players who have been playing for the Latvian national team since the country gained its independence in 1991/92 (another player is the captain Vitālijs Astafjevs). He has played 105 matches and scored 12 goals for the national team, and he took part at the European Championships 2004 in Portugal. Zemļinskis wore the jersey number 4. Zemļinskis is currently learning how to work his way up the echelons of becoming a Football Coach at FK Daugava Rīga.[1]
