The Midwest Motorcycle Alcoholics Anonymous Convention (MMAAC) is an annual Alcoholics Anonymous convention held since 2001 that includes recovering alcoholics, their families and invited guests.
The purposes of this convention are to:
- Celebrate the alcoholics' continued sobriety
- Renew their effort in working the 12 steps
- Share their experience, strength and hope with each other
- Listen to a variety of invited and motivational Alcoholics Anonymous speakers
- Reach out to those struggling with alcoholism
Despite its name, this is not a motorcycle club and participants need not have a motorcycle.
The first and second MMAAC were held in Nelson, Illinois while the third through seventh were held in Pearl City, Illinois. The MMAAC is primarily a camping event with a covered stage for the speaker area, a protected area for the listeners and tents for the social areas.
