Michael McGovern (b. 12 July 1984, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Ireland U-21 international goalkeeper, currently playing for Celtic.
He made his first-team debut for Celtic as a substitute in Henrik Larsson's farewell testimonial match. McGovern began his career at his local club, Enniskillen Town United, where he came up through the youth ranks to eventually become first-choice keeper for the first team at a young age. He once managed to score a goal against arch rivals Enniskillen Rangers directly from a goal kick.
He recently signed a new one-year contract extension with Celtic which will keep him at the club until 2007. His sister, Aíne, is a defender for the Northern Ireland women's international team.
During the 2004/5 season McGovern went on loan to Stranraer, where he made 19 appearances. On December 1, 2006, McGovern joined St. Johnstone on a one-month emergency loan.
