Michael Higgs (born 14 February 1962 in Birmingham, West Midlands, England) is a British actor best known for prominent roles in two long-running television series: Eddie Santini in ITV1's The Bill, and Andy Hunter in EastEnders. He is married to actress Caroline Catz, whom he met on the set of The Bill. They have a son named Sonny who was born in 2001, and a daughter named Honour who was born in 2006.[citation needed]

Higgs is best known in television for his roles as PC Eddie Santini in the long-running ITV police drama series The Bill from 1998 to 1999 and as Andy Hunter in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 2003 to 2005.

The Woman in Black is a thriller adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the novel by Susan Hill. The play has been running at the Fortune Theatre since February 1989.
In 1996 Michael Higgs played the Actor alongside Barry Stanton as Arthur Kipps.
The plot concerns a young solicitor who is sent to wind up the affairs of a recently deceased woman. The solicitor has to manage with no help from the locals, who will not approach the house; they believe it is cursed. Years later, he recounts his ghostly experiences with the aid of an actor, who helps him prepare to tell his story in front of his family and friends. in a desperate bid to exorcise the ghosts of the past. The Woman in Black takes the audience on a journey through the past, as seen through the eyes of Arthur Kipps and the Actor.

One Life and Counting is a play by Mette Bolstad.
Michael played Aaron in the Bush Theatre from 13 October 1999 until 6 November 1999.
The play was directed by Sasha Wares. The cast included Ryan Early, Michael Higgs, Tabitha Wady, and Clive Wood.

The Blue Room is a play by David Hare, freely adapted from Arthur Schnitzler's classic La Ronde.
It involves ten characters:
- The girl
- The taxi driver
- The au-pair
- The student
- The married woman
- The politician
- The model
- The playwright
- The actress
- The aristocrat
All the parts are played by two actors.
The play is structured as a series of self-contained but interlocking scenes, beginning with the girl and the taxi driver, ending with the girl and the aristocrat, and introducing the au pair, student, married woman, politician, model, playwright, and the actress along the way. Each scene reveals one of the characters from the scene before, who engages in a liaison with a new partner, until the play comes full circle and reintroduces us to the two original characters.
Camilla Power and Michael Higgs performed at the Haymarket Theatre from 2 October 2000 until 18 November 2000. The production was directed by Loveday Ingram.
[edit] The Homecoming
The Homecoming is a play by Nobel prize-winner Harold Pinter, first published in 1965. Michael Higgs played Teddy in the 2002 production at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.
The play has six characters, five of them men. Teddy is the eldest son in the family. He brings his American wife Ruth home for her first visit to Britain. She experiences his working class London background. Sexual tension is created throughout the play as his wife taunts his brothers. There is also a power struggle going on between the two more dominant men, Lenny and Max. Max puts down the other men by feminising them, while Lenny destroys Max's memory of the past. By the play's end, Ruth appears to have the power as the men appear to be meeting her demands.
