Mourad Merwan Rim (born in July 13, 1977 in Sarcelles, France) is a French artist known for his portrayal as "François de Vendôme, Duc de Beaufort" in Kamel Ouali's musical "Le Roi Soleil". Even though he did not interest the press during the past two years, Merwan gathered a huge fandom. ^[1]

1977 – Born the 5th of seven children.

1993 – Attended a U2 gig and began to learn how to play the drums.

1995 – Started to learn how to play the guitar.

1996 – Father died from cancer three weeks after being diagnosied. Mourad, while still a student, and his older sisters take care of their family.

1996-1999 – While taking care of his family, Mourad decided that he would make a living from his passion of performing music.

2000-2001 – Attended Alice Dona's music school. Mourad Merwan RIM becomes Merwan RIM

2001 – Mixing rock, electro and soul, Merwan started to create his own music.

2001-2003 – Was cast to perform "Ramses" ( as Ahmed Mouici stand-in before he takes over) in the musical "Les Dix Commandements" and toured with the company in Europe, Canada and Japan.

2004 – Appeared in Maxime Le Forestier's musical "Gladiateur" as a stand-in for the character of "David".

2005-2007 – Merwan was cast in "Le Roi Soleil" as "Le Duc de Beaufort" and appeared on the CDs

2007 – Announced he was preparing his first solo album. A duet with Marilou Bourdon was released on June 18, 2007. Merwan composed, played and recorded a track for the DVD bonus of "Sur les pas de Soeur Emmanuelle", a documentary released on March 22, 2007. Merwan took part to the UNICEF gala for the girls'instruction. Merwan briefly reprised his role of "Ramses" in Seoul, South Korea.

2008 - Took part for the second time to the FAM gala at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. He started to record his album and presented some of the tracks to his public.
