Talk:Mental literacy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The tone of this entry is hardly neutral - in two places the writer mentions Buzan's desire to sell books, which is irrelevant to the merit or otherwise of the notion of mental literacy itself. Stick to describing what is required by the title - cynicism and Italic textad hominenItalic text arguments ("The metaphor also implies that the mind uses some sort of set of languages in order to operate and that humans generally do not know how to use them without the Buzan organisation's instruction") have no place in encyclopedia entries. - Anonymous
- Impossible Knowledge
- Before you go saying this article is not neutral:
“[...] knowledge of [...] apparently infinite permutations and combinations [...]”
- Then such knowledge is forever beyond us, impossible even to begin to understand; it is so complex. If he is right, the "99%" unused is out of reach, certainly not within the bounds of any method of organizing. If he's proved anything, it's that he knows nothing. Combinatorics is a good thing to study, but thankfully it is not the genesis of all knowledge (e.g. Brute force proof). That said, he is dealing with a beloved subject, so it might not be the best strategy to slam him too hard, or it could leak into the corresponding proper sciences, especially since he is an honored university grad (compared to this folk encyclopedia e.g. edited by people whose hobbies are limited to listening to country music, drinking alcohol, and hitting on tree-faced bottle-blondes with no breasts).
