[edit] AfD Nomination: Dizzay
I've nominated the article Dizzay for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Dizzay satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dizzay. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Dizzay during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Powers T 20:05, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
We have 1500+ users as well as a hit count of 20 million. The fact that you're not allowing us to have a wiki shows that your reasons for deleting the Dizzay article are biased in nature.
[edit] Recreation of Dizzay article (March 2007)
Regarding your recreation of the Dizzay article; I nominated it for speedy deletion. The reason was that that the article says little about the website, and that with an Alexa ranking of 1.8m (i.e. very low) it's unlikely to be notable anyway (see WP:WEB). I did this before I found out that the article had previously been deleted via an AfD vote.
Please do NOT create this article again until (and if) the website has grown significantly in fame and notability *and* you can clearly prove it. Otherwise this may be considered as spamming or vandalism. Fourohfour 18:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ahmad Mbaslat
The article Ahmad Mbaslat has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 03:52, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Nokian95.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nokian95.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] By the by(e)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article By the by(e), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - Regarding your message [1], thanks for trying to help Wikipedia out, it's just that there are certain things that Wikipedia is not. Don't forget that Wiktionary also needs help! Check out Wikt:by the by and Wikt:by the way, for example. Pan Dan 23:09, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- One more thing, can I have your consent that By the by(e) should be deleted so that I can put the proposed deletion template back on, or would you like this to go through articles for deletion? Pan Dan 23:11, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! Pan Dan 23:52, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nokia N95
Thanks for your recent edits to Nokia N95 - it's good to see people working to improve articles! You might like to use the 'show preview' button in future, though, if you're not sure about your edits or how they'll look rather than make lots and lots of edits in a small amount of time. It makes it harder to read through the edit history when there's a lot of small edits.
Keep up the good work! Wibbble 14:42, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marian Merritt
I deleted the article Marian Merritt because it failed to make a claim of notability. Articles that do not claim notability can be speedily deleted, without discussion, under criteria CSD A7. Keep in mind that notability must be established using reliable sources in order to preserve verifiability. Veinor (talk to me) 20:25, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I know that the article did not make any claims of notability because I read it. And, whether or not Ms. Merritt may become notable in the future is irrelevant; Wikipedia is not a crystal ball; we cannot see into the future. Veinor (talk to me) 20:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that everything that doesn't already have a Wikipedia article will never get one, I'm just saying it's inappropriate to create one in this particular case. And this system is actually somewhat necessary; a lot of the time, people will create an article about themselves, and there's no way to verify what they say, so there's not enough content to actually make an article. Veinor (talk to me) 20:42, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Jason Zander
A tag has been placed on Jason Zander, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 17:52, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there. First of all when you put an {{hangon}} on a page you don't delete the speedy tag. Secondly can you please sign your posts on the talk pages with ~~~~ that way we know easily who is working on the page etc. I've left the speedy tag on the page for the minute just put a note on the talk page, that you are working on this page, and try and get as much information as you can on there. At the moment the article needs alot more information. Any problems don't hesitate to give me a shout. Khukri 09:11, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re Jason Zander
Tell you what, I'll delete this article for now, when you have the additional info you can recreate the article. As it stands now it doesn't indicate notability or constitute a complete article, and we don't let incomplete articles stay around, even for a short period. Herostratus 09:55, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Marilyn.jpg
Hi Megahmad!
We thank you for uploading Image:Marilyn.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
