The Megalithic Temples of Malta is the name used for a group of seven megalithic ensembles located in the Maltese islands of Malta and Gozo. These temples were deemed to be of outstanding universal value that UNESCO declared the collection as a World Heritage Site, under the said name.
Initially, the World Heritage status was given only to the two temples forming the Ġgantija complex in the island of Gozo in 1980. The nomination was extended in 1992, to include the six other ancient temples located throughout in the island of Malta.
