The Media of Tampa Bay serves a large population in the Tampa Bay area.

The Tampa Bay area is served by a wide variety of local television stations, and is the 13th-largest designated market area in the U.S. with 1.78 million homes.[1]

Major daily newspapers serving the area are The St. Petersburg Times and The Tampa Tribune. La Gaceta is the city's major Spanish-language paper. There are also a wide variety of smaller regional newspapers, alternative weeklies and magazines, including the Florida Sentinel Bulletin[2] (which focuses coverage on the African American community in Tampa), The Weekly Challenger[3] (which focuses coverage on the African American community in Saint Petersburg), Creative Loafing, The Oracle, Tampa Bay Business Journal (legal industry paper), The Pinellas News[4], and MacDill Thunderbolt[5].

Many cities near Tampa/St. Petesburg also have their own daily newspapers whose coverage and availability overlaps Examples include The Bradenton Herald and Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The major network television affiliates include WFTS 28 (ABC), WTSP 10 (CBS), WFLA 8 (NBC), WTVT 13 (FOX), WTOG 44 (The CW), and WTTA 38 (My Network TV). There are also two PBS stations in the area, including WEDU 3, and WUSF 16. WMOR 32 is the only Independent station which serves the area. There are also several Spanish-language television networks, including WVEA 62 (Univision), WFTT 50 (Telefutura), and WRMD 49 (Telemundo). WCLF 22 (Trinity Broadcasting Network), is a religious station in the area.

Several cable television stations also operate in the area, including Bay News 9 (owned by Bright House Networks), SNN News 6 (owned by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune), and Catch 47 (a local sports-oriented network).
