The city of Charlotte, North Carolina serves as a media hub. As such, numerous sources service it.

The dominant newspaper in the region is The Charlotte Observer. Charlotte is also served by independently owned The Charlotte Weekly, a local edition of the Greensboro based Rhinoceros Times along with the Atlanta based Creative Loafing. The The Charlotte Post, is the city's African American newspaper and Q-Notes, a paper serving the LGBT communities of North and South Carolina, has been based in Charlotte since its creation in 1986. In 2006 Uptown Magazine, was formed to cover news, lifestyles and events of Charlotte's Center City. There is also a business and court focused paper called The Mecklenburg Times, as well as Advance Publications' Charlotte Business Journal.
