Maxwell Caulfield (born November 23, 1959) is a Scottish actor known for his roles in film, television and on stage.

Caulfield was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Caulfield claims that his American stepfather, a Marine instructor at Parris Island, kicked him out of the house at the age of 15. At 18, he moved to the U.S.[1] and obtained his green card.

Caulfield made his acting debut off-Broadway in 1981 as a drifter in the title role of Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr. Sloane.[1]
He made his Broadway debut in J. B. Priestley's An Inspector Calls opposite Sian Phillips.[1] He also played opposite Jessica Tandy in Salonika.[1] Caulfield is currently performing in the Charles Busch play Our Leading Lady, opposite Kate Mulgrew.

His first major movie role was as the geek-turned-hunk Michael Carrington in the musical film Grease 2 (1982) opposite Michelle Pfeiffer.
Caulfield's other appearances include:
- A role in the TV mini-series Judith Krantz's Till We Meet Again (1989).
- An appearance in the film Gettysburg (1993) as Colonel Strong Vincent.
- The role of Miles Colby on the Dynasty spin-off The Colbys.
- An appearance in the first episode of Beverly Hills 90210 as an older man interested in Shannen Doherty.
- A satirical role as "Rex Manning", a spoiled has-been rock star, in the film Empire Records (1995).
- Caulfield returned to the United Kingdom in 2004 to appear as Dr Jim Brodie in the highly-rated BBC medical drama Casualty.
- Starring in "La Cage Aux Folles" at The Ogunquit Playhouse.
Caulfield has also done voiceover work; he voiced the character of Alistair Smythe in Spider-Man: The Animated Series from 1994-1998 and was the voice of James Bond in the videogame Nightfire.

In 1980, Caulfield, who was then 21, married noted actress Juliet Mills. The couple received substantial press attention at the time; at 39, Mills was 18 years his senior.[1] He became stepfather to her daughter, Melissa Miklenda (now Melissa Caulfield).
