This entry is hardly notable - excellent candidate for deletion. Shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The above comment is unsigned, but I disagree completely. The subject is notable because (a) he is an prominent example of a missionary who has come to England from a foreign country and (b) his church is one of the largest, if not the largest, in England and possibly in Europe. He is an important figure in the UK Christian scene and worthy of an entry. The article does need wikifying, though. Sidefall 21:27, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

I have added a section on financial irregularities, which is identical to the same section in the Kingsway International Christian Centre entry. If you change this section here, please also update it there as well. I should add that the events described in this section are given in the referenced report by a government body, so this material, which may be considered controversial, definitely has an authoritative source. I have reverted the edit that removed the category former muslims from this entry. The reasons given were not defining and not notable. Whilst the subject is probably not "defined" by his former religion, it is extremely notable that the pastor of a very large church is an ex-muslim, especially when combined with the fact that he left Nigeria to be a missionary in England. Given that Britain historically sent missionaries to Africa to convert the natives to Christianity, the fact that a Nigerian muslim became a christian (circumstances currently unknown) and went as a missionary to England is of considerable note and worthy of inclusion in the former muslims category. Okay, you convinced me that this former Muslim faith is related to his notability. Do you have any reputable references for the statement that he is a former Muslim? Andries 21:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
I found several references to this on the net, including:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/10/07/nchurch07.xml (UK national newspaper, 2005)
http://www.charismamag.com/display.php?id=12789 (USA christian magazine, 2006)
http://www.jesus.org.uk/dawn/2002/dawn18.html (UK christian website, 2002)
The first two I would consider as highly reputable - they have large circulations and hopefully get their facts right. The third one isn't one I would consider authoritative in isolation, but note the much earlier date. His former religion is a well-known fact, but I suspect he downplays it because of his prominent position and the sensitivity of this subject. The size of his church makes him (in my view) a notable figure and worthy of a comprehensive entry. There does seem to be little published information on him and I would welcome expansion of this article subject to the usual wikipedia requirements. Sidefall 20:40, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
