Age? Birthplace?

Yes, I would also like to see a date of birth and place of birth. Also, Rickson and his camp have denied the allegations that the two ever fought. Royce Gracie, half brother to Rickson and probably the best known member in the U.S. has gone on the record in Black Belt magazine (around '96 or '97, I don't know when exactly or the issue number) as saying Ruas lied about this to gain credibility as a BJJ player. So I would like to see this assertion that there was indeed a fight either expounded upon (perhaps in its own section) or excised entirely as it is not a hard fact without a credible source.

Unfortunately he did not fight any Gracie member, he has however fought one their top students a guy called Fernando Pinduka to a draw. It was a kind of challenge between BJJ and Lutre Livre (BJJ minus a Gi). Rickson comments that Ruas has a sloppy ground game (guard etc), where as Ruas has challenged Rickson's Standup prowess. I agree that it's weird that nowhere really publicises his place or date of birth, I believe him to be around 46/47 now though.
