From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marty Pocius (po-shis) (born April 28, 1986) is a Lithuanian college basketball player for the Duke Blue Devils. He is a junior who plays shooting guard and small forward. Pocius from Vilnius, Lithuania, plays for the Lithuanian national team. He receives limited minutes, though often provides an offensive spark coming off the bench. He flashed his potential during a first-round loss in the 2007 ACC tournament against North Carolina State, in which he scored 14 points coming off the bench. He received slightly more time during the 2007-2008 season, and put up better stats. However, he injured his ankle in the Blue Devils' November 25 win over Eastern Kentucky, aggravating an injury he had acquired during the summer while practicing for the Lithuanian national team. He underwent season-ending surgery in January, after the swelling decreased. He has stated his intention to redshirt this season, making him eligible for two more years.
