Martin Nesbitt

Martin Luther Nesbitt, Jr. is an attorney and member of the North Carolina General Assembly. A Democrat from Asheville, North Carolina, Nesbitt was elected to eleven terms in the state House, representing constituents in Buncombe County. His mother, Mary Cordell Nesbitt, held the House seat prior to her death; upon her death Martin Nesbitt was appointed to fill her remaining term.]. In February of 2003, Martin Nesbitt was appointed to the North Carolina Senate by Governor Mike Easley to fill the vacant seat left by the resignation of Steve Metcalf.
