It was written by Peter Morgan and directed by Nick Hamm. It starred Monica Potter, Rufus Sewell, Tom Hollander, and Joseph Fiennes in the title roles. The story centres around the fact that Frank, Daniel and Laurence are child-hood friends and that each meets Martha separately and falls in love with her.
Martha, an American from Minnesota finally has had enough of her job and existence that she takes all her money, and goes to the Airport and takes the first flight out for the amount she has. She reaches the airport to find that for $99 she can reach London. While she is getting out of the cab, she runs to get a trolley when she bumps into Daniel, a successful music label executive who lives a life of pomp with no feeling. Daniel is smitten and tries to get her an "upgrade". Martha sees through this and sells her ticket, pocketing the extra money. She reaches London to meet Laurence. Laurence had come to the airport to catch Daniel and talk to him about Frank. Frank is a struggling theatre actor. He misses him, but meets Martha who does not know where she is going. She take a ride with him to her hotel suite, which was arranged by Daniel at his company's expense, but Laurence runs away when he sees a bouquet of flowers from Daniel.
The next day, the three of them meet up and Daniel is talking about this girl he met on the flight. Frank has an audition which he misses because he believes he won't make it. He goes to the park where he bumps into "Daniel's Girl" He calls Laurence and tells him.
Laurence rushes off but misses them, and finally she catches up with him. She comes back to his flat, and Laurence is torn, between his loyalty and his love. Martha had told him about the way she just left, and Laurence so badly wants to do that.
The next day, she wakes up, and whilst walking through the flat comes to a picture and realises that all three are friends. She finally confronts them and in the process Frank and Daniel take off their frustrations by getting into fist fights.
Laurence freezes and finally goes to the closest travel agent and asks for the first flight out for 99 quid. He is given a ticket to Reykjavík, Martha is hiding behind the wall, to come out and ask for another ticket to Reykjavík
