Mark Slavin

Mark Slavin (January 31, 1954 – September 6, 1972), was an Israeli Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler and victim of the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics.
Slavin, born in Minsk, USSR, was the youngest of the victims at the age of eighteen. He was taken hostage with several other Israeli athletes. Mark Slavin died by machine gun fire in a helicopter during a rescue attempt.
Before moving to Israel, Slavin won the Soviet Greco-Roman wrestling championship. He moved to Israel in May 1972 and he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv and the Israel Olympic Team.
