Mark Emery Roman (born on March 16, 1977) is currently a defensive back for the San Francisco 49ers. While playing at LSU he was the freshman SEC Defensive player of the year. He was drafted out of LSU in the 2000 NFL Draft in the second round (34th overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals. He played there for four years as a cornerback and free safety before the Green Bay Packers signed him as a free agent in 2004. He played there for two years before being cut. The 49ers signed him three days later.
