Marija Gluvakov

Marija Gluvakov - Medenica (Serbian Cyrillic: Марија Глуваков - Меденица) (born 1973 in Senta, Serbia, formerly Yugoslavia) is a Serbian pianist and piano teacher.

Gluvakov graduated from the Faculty of Music at Belgrade as a student of Professor Miloš Ivanović. There she completed her postgraduate studies in both Piano Performance (with the same teacher) and Chamber Music (studied with Olivera Djurdjević). She also studied with Arbo Valdma and Dušan Trbojević.

Marija Gluvakov won many prizes at the state's and federal competitions in former Yugoslavia and was a prizewinner at the international competitions in Rome and Stresa, Italy ( both in 1995).

She has been giving recitals throughout Serbia (and formerly, Yugoslavia), including the BEMUS and NOMUS festivals, and has played as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra Stanislav Binički and the Chamber Orchestra Kornelije. She has recorded for the radio and television.
[edit] Teaching career
She has been an accompanist and piano teacher at the University of Pristina Faculty of Arts since 2004. Previously, she was an instructor in Piano Performance at the University of Arts Faculty of Music in Belgrade (1998-2003) and a private teacher in the Belgrade area.
