Maria Gripe

Maria Gripe, born Maria Walter (25 July 1923, Vaxholm – 5 April 2007), was a Swedish author of books for children and young people, often written in a magical and mystical tone.
Her books have won many awards, including in 1974 the Hans Christian Andersen Medal, and are translated into about 30 languages.
Maria Gripe died on the April 5, 2007 in her home of a sickness reports SVD.
