Marchesa is a high-end fashion label co-founded by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig in 2004. The label is named after socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati.[1] Investors of the brand include Giuseppe Cipriani and Steven C. Witkoff.[2]
As described by New York Magazine[1], the "look" of Marchesa is:
Pretty evening gowns that offer extra delicacy and detail make up the bulk of the collections. Far East–inspired embroidery, draping fabrics, and a modern, feminine perspective lend the label its distinctive look
In 2006, the label was named one of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund's top ten finalists.[1] Also in 2006, the company generated a wholesale volume of $3.5 million and sold at stores like Neiman Marcus, Harrods, Selfridges, Holt Renfrew.[3]
