Maniac Cop is about a serial killer dressed in an NYPD police uniform who goes around killing innocent people. After being sent to prison for police brutality and murder, he is ambushed by fellow inmates and considered dead. After his "corpse" is out of the morgue, he returns to get revenge on criminals and innocent people. Frank McCrae heads the investigation. Jack Forrest, a young cop, is framed as the main suspect after being set up by the real killer. To prove his innocence, Forrest and his girlfriend Theresa Mallory try to find the real killer.
