Malmyzh

Malmyzh (Russian: Малмыж) is a town in Kirov Oblast, Russia, located on the Shoshma River (Vyatka's tributary), near its confluence with the Zasora, Moksha, and Krupny Lach Rivers, 294 km southeast of Kirov. Population: 9,318 (2002 Census); 10,699 (1989 Census).
It was first mentioned as the Mari village of Malmyzh in the 15th century. A fortress was built here in 1584. It has had town status since 1780.
