Malmesbury Victoria F.C. are a football club based in Malmesbury, England. A change in name, from Malmesbury Town FC came into being around 1973/4.The new name Malmesbury Victoria FC. The Victoria part came from a club in Swindon who had to fold. The name change allowed MVFC to enter a higher league, which they had previously been entitled to after winning the Wilts: Div 1 league. At that time the majority of the MTFC committee turned down the automatic promotion on the grounds that the league was to expensive, to join and to travel. Just after this decision was made the old committee made way for a new progressive committee. MVFC was born and a new league and a direction for the club was made.
