Mallatobuck, also known as Malla, is a fictional character of the Star Wars universe. She is a female adult Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk.
Malla is married to Chewbacca and is mother to Lumpawarrump. Her father-in-law is Attichitcuk. Mallatobuck was introduced in The Star Wars Holiday Special and was played by actor Mickey Morton.

Malla and Chewbacca met during the times of the Old Republic, when Chewbacca rescued her from Trandoshan slavers. Chewbacca himself ends up enslaved by the Empire, however. He is rescued by Han Solo in a risky confrontation, and Solo becomes his closest friend. He swears a life debt to Solo, and accompanies him from that point on. He and Solo visit Kashyyyk, where he is reunited with Malla. He proposes, and they are married. Han assumes that Chewbacca will stay with his wife and child, but Wookiees consider it a great dishonor to go back on a life debt, and both Malla and Chewbacca are horrified by the suggestion that he would do so because of his marriage. Despite this, Chewbacca returned once per year (with Han's blessing) to celebrate Life Day with Malla and their son, Lumpawarrump (or Lumpy, for short, born 9 BBY) as seen in 1 ABY, in The Star Wars Holiday Special and the next year, in The Wookiee Storybook.
The exact order of events varies by story, with some having Chewbacca and Mallatobuck getting married and living together with Chewbacca's father, Attichitcuk, before Chewbacca's enslavement.

Malla first appears in The Star Wars Holiday Special, where she is portrayed as a loving, but firm, mother toward her son, Lumpy. During the blockade of Kashyyyk, she, along with the local trader, Saun Dann, played by Art Carney, attempt to keep the agents of the Galactic Empire in their home busy. In her normal life, however, she enjoys cooking, during which she learns new recipes from her viewscreen. On Life Day, she had prepared the night's dinner by cooking a bantha roast for her family. She appears to enjoy music, particularly what earthly humans would consider rock music. This is evidenced when Trader Saun Dann gives her a music box with a 3D band saying, "I knew you'd like it."

Malla appears in The Wookiee Storybook, a 1979 Children's book, where she worries for Lumpy's safety, when he goes out on an adventure of his own to the depths of the Kashyyyk forest.
She also appears in the Han Solo trilogy of books by A.C. Crispin[citation needed]

Malla also appears in the Chewbacca comic book series by Darko Mecan. The series is told by Chewbacca's family and close friends. In the series, specifically her appearance in the first issue, she tells of how she tried to seduce Chewbacca, and how he rescued her from Trandoshan slavers. It is a tale of courtship and heroism.
