Talk:Maid Marian and her Merry Men

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The memorable music and songs for Maid Marian and Her Merry Men series were composed by Nick Russell-Pavier and David Chilton.

Great! I'll put this in the article. By the way, you are allowed to put it in yourself. Anyone can add information to Wikipedia. Talk to me if you want to know more. - user:zanimum

Like many British children's programmes, there is a lot of social commentary snuck in, which would be unlikely to have been allowed on an adult show, due to the Beeb's neutrality on political issues. I'm sorry but thats just plain wrong, political neutrality applies to news and current affairs not comedy or drama. Saul Taylor 19:22, 29 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Actually no, there IS a lot of social commentary on the show.
I don't think Saul was saying that there wasn't; what he was saying was that the Beeb's political neutrality has nothing to do with it. --Paul A 04:09, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I just watched Tony Robnson's stand up act Cunning Night Out and from what he says is it wasn't a Children's program, even though alot of kids watched it. From what he says in it the entire show wasn't targeted at kids. -- Hagis —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.234.52.15 (talk) 03:33, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't that link go to the wrong David Lloyd?

no, it's the right David Lloyd.

[edit] 'References'

I started a separate section to list the video and DVD releases, with dates and references to press releases, since these are the main Maid Marian-related happenings at the moment, and I;m sure it's better to back up the dates with sources.

I wanted to provide sources for the dates in a "references" section, in a similar style to the Top Gear page, but there was already a references section with a list of books in: this has been on the page for ages, but surely these aren't references in an encyclopedic sense? I don't own any of the books but I doubt the books are all a source for this page. I've renamed that section "Comic books", for now, and I reckon it should probably have a bit more information about the books, than just a list of ISBNs. Jimbow25 16:12, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revert

I reverted the edits by 212.2.174.229 the piece about the upcoming DVDs, because I can't see how these made anything any clearer. Use of "program" instead of "programme", and "Volume 1" instead of "Series 1" is not consistent with the rest of the article. What was written (and then hastily removed) on the edits in between by this person may well be worth mentioning somewhere in the article. Jimbow25 18:48, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Young Telegraph

Anyone want to create a page for the Daily Telegraph's children's/young adult section...? I'll probably get around to it sooner or later if not. ntnon (talk) 03:50, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
